Still photos cannot convey what makes a mobile unique: Its movement. This video gallery attempts to show the motion. Videos show only a glimpse of what a mobile creates for a viewer; the elements are constantly changing their relationships to each other.
In addition to watercolor and tissue papers, I use rice papers, origami papers specialty foils, copper cloth, acetate sheets and fabrics. Copper and aluminum blades are polished sheet metal. Guitar picks, movie and concert tickets, wine labels and seashells have also been used. Wires are stainless steel, copper and silver coated copper.
Note: Colors are more vivid once a video is clicked. Camera angles can make it seem that elements are colliding – they are not. Each video, approximately 20 seconds, has reference letters, Height and Width in inches, and lists the blade material.
